8832. Expl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/MJ. March 28th.1931. Messrs. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Lucas Ltd., Dordrecht Road, Acton Vale, LONDON.W.3. Dear Sirs, Hydraulic Shock Absorbers. We are very anxious to have an opportunity of talking to one of your technical experts on shock absorbers. We wonder whether it would be possible for you to arrange for one of your representatives to visit us to discuss the matter. Briefly, the position is that we have made a study of most of the shock absorbers at present being produced and feel that there is no damper at present being made in England which compares favourably for efficiency with American products such as the Delco. Naturally, we are very reluctant to purchase any product which is not British for fitting to our cars, but we understand that you do occasionally produce special shock absorbers for certain customers. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd. | ||
