Bensport Brakes.

We wish to put forward the view that the brake linings both front and rear, should be increased from .312 to .375, and that this can best be done by increasing the dia of the drums from 12 to 12.128".

The modification to the cast iron drum is we believe simple and the only other pieces affected are the sheet metal cover and the brake drum back plate. The former is a very simple pressing and the latter we believe could be utilised without alteration.

We shall be glad of the slight increase in the brake diameter.

The increased thickness of lining will enable us to obtain more adjustment, viz. approx. 50° instead of 30°, i.e. 75° total movement, which the cams appear to be capable of providing as indicated on the accompanying N.Sch.3771. The rivets in the linings are still clear of the drums.
