My dear Robotham,

Following your recommendations, I have sent one of the tyres to the India Company, but on the rear tyres, although I have only done 4,100 miles, the tread has worn completely. I have replaced these tyres today with Dunlops, but I have not yet had an opportunity of trying them yet.

However, I have noticed that as the tyres have worn, so has there been an alteration in the noise of the car, similar to that I experienced with the Siddeley Special after they altered the transmission, which made the mechanical noise much more silent; that is to say, when the tyres were new we heard a scream, which, after they have worn, changes to a rumble.

As a matter of fact, the tyre noise on the Bentley is worse than the Siddeley Special after the tread has worn.

Anyhow, I will let you know how I get on with the Dunlops. I hope that, at any rate, they last better that the India.

Yours sincerely,

W.C.Devereux.
