COPY. WHR. {Mr Wheeler} 15/FP. {F. Potts} 1.4.27. S/W. {Sales / Derby Works} Re: GNK-74 - Schmidt for Alberto. GNK-93 - Astoteca. In the case of GNK-93, Paris advise us (in Ps25/RJ. 18.3.27.) that they have completely dismantled the engine and that they found several very important parts, camshaft, crankshaft, etc., had become corroded by something of an acid nature. They add that the balls in the ball bearings were also seriously affected and that all ball-bearings will have to be changed. They showed some of the parts to Sg. {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} recently, and intend showing them to Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} and Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} when they return from 'Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.' The object of this memo is to ask you to compare the case of GNK-93 with that of GNK-74, in case there is anything more interesting than merely a resemblance.
