GOVERNMENT WAR OFFICE, G.P.O., COLONIAL AND FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS NEW-HUDSON LTD PROPRIETORS OF ST GEORGE'S ENGINEERING WORKS. OUR REF. AF/AL. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM{Anthony F. Martindale}9/KW. Icknield Street BIRMINGHAM 18 3rd May 1935. Sole Manufacturers of THE GIRLING UNIVERSAL BRAKE. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., D E R B Y. Dear Sirs, With reference to yours of the 13th April and our reply of the 18th inst., we are today sending you under separate cover one front drum and hub plate. The reason for the delay was that we had to get special material in for the drum and turn the whole thing out of the solid. You will notice that we have left a little in the bore so that you can finish machine this to suit your hub. We have also left approximately 30 thousandths in the drum diameter so that you can skim this out when you have attached the Backing Plate and drum to your hub, so that you can make sure that the job is definitely true. Kindly believe that we are very interested in your tests and we should be glad, when you have completed same, if you would allow us to come up and discuss the matter with you. We are more than anxious to do everything possible to get you interested in the GIRLING BRAKES. No doubt you would see that M.G. are fitting these on their Racing Cars. We are getting further large contracts and we are most anxious to interest you in this job. | ||
