X.4181d - WATFORD E06 MAGNETOS.60° RANGE. No.73970/2.

Some special tests have been carried out on these magnetos by which their efficiency has been somewhat reduced.

Would you kindly have these magnetos returned to themakers for reconditioning.

The results obtained with the magneto No.82558 recently received, which we call 'LAG. Mag.1' (meaning larger air gap magneto, the first), are very favourable, as you will see from a report, copy of which you will shortly receive. Accordingly we are desirous that these two magnetos (handed to you herewith) shall at the same time as being reconditioned also be arranged in a similar way with the better sleeve control and larger air gap, in fact similar to/No.82558.

Would you kindly arrange for this.

We are not sure whether Messrs. North's have had a copy of our up-to-date Specification of Performance of 6-cylinder Magneto (without automatic advance) for R.R. 40/50 car, dated 25.2.25; if not, we think they ought to have one of these and accordingly we attach copy of this. This is the identical specififcation, two copies of which were sent to you under cover of our EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 2/T27.5.25 in connection with B.T.H. magnetos.

EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer}
