R.R.BD.{Mr Berend}122A.1,000.7-18.C.&S.G.Ltd.5002 X.3582 XW228 E2/G10.2.20. To Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to CJ. * Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} * Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} * CK.{Mr Clark} X.3582. RE GOSHAWK CHASSIS. X.3581. CARBURTETTER AND PETROL FEED. In accordance with Mr. Royce's wishes would you kindly arrange to use an old R.R. carburetter on the Goshawk chassis similar to the one that is at present fitted to the 20 H.P. Buick Car. Would you kindly have the necessary schemes of induction pipe got out in Derby. Owing to the results recently obtained on the "Hawk" engine it is thought that the Goshawk induction pipe should be of the type in which the two three-way manifolds on the cylinders are fed by a two-way pipe from the carburetter at points midway between cylinders 2 and 3 and cylinders 4 and 5. X.3585. Further, in accordance with Mr. Royce's wishes would you please arrange to use vacuum feed on the Goshawk chassis, as there is no provision at present for a pressure pump.
