1263. To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems} It was agreed some time ago to supply cap nuts for S.U. Petrol pumps. This has not been done and we have since had cases in which shavings have been found in pumps. We suggest that 400 nuts are made, 200 Bentley and 200 Phantom III., and these are fitted by the S.U.Company on both new and modified pumps. In the case of new pumps these cap nuts should only be removed when the pump is fitted to the chassis, and then returned to the S.U.Company. For pumps replaced at the depots, the nuts could be returned to the S.U.Company on the faulty pump. The last request for these nuts was overlooked and we consider that this precaution should be taken without further delay. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems} | ||
