WF45 JOSEPH LUCAS LTD., PAGE DATE To Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., D E R B Y. 3 25th August, 1926. your views with regard to the exterior shape of the casing. We are of course, well aware that we can get our optical system inside any casing of reasonable formation, but perhaps you have some definite views on this matter. We are no doubt prejudiced parties, but we think something on the lines of our present type L70 is a very pleasing contour and has the advantage of being distinctly English looking in general style and finish. Do you feel that we should go somewhat larger than our present model to give your customers the impression that a larger lamp would give more light, although in actual practice beyond a certain size this is more imaginary than real. We shall await with much interest your further observations. Yours faithfully, JOSEPH LUCAS LIMITED, Oliver Lucas Joint Managing Director. | ||
