The results of these tests are :-

(1) Compared with 19-EX taken over same road, No.3 test gives 10% steadier radiator movement. No appreciable difference in steering joggles. Wing movement 10% more.

(2) The value of the radiator as a damper mounted on the engine taking the results of No.1 and No.3 test is 30%.

(3) The remaining 70% is affected by the torque reaction dampers which have to have a load of at least 80 lbs to obtain the best results. A greater load could be used with effect as there was no increased torque reaction, and no booms were noticed in the body. Watching the engine with the bonnet off confirmed the torque reaction poundage could do with more load.

__________

The front wings on 19-EX are made of a heavy gauge and have no stone guards fitted.

60.JS{Mr Johnson's Secretary} wings do not appear to be made with as heavy a gauge, and have heavy stone guards fitted. They do not feel to have the same strength, the formation may have something to do with it.
