-2- Contd. reasonably be similar to a number which are on the market for small domestic main switch fuse purposes. (d) Field regulating resistance. (e) Armature regulating resistance. (f) Three output terminals to take the leads of the motor, comprising a field positive, an armature positive and a common negative. the items on this board being connected electrically in accordance with the diagram attached. It would appear, therefore, that we might now ask Messrs. Crypto for a revised quotation comprising:- (A) 3 B.H.P. D.C. 100/110 volt motor of normal speed 1400/1500 r.p.m. (B) Plain field regulating resistance to increase speed at constant power to, say, 2250 r.p.m. and further with some falling off of available power to 3000 r.p.m. (C) Plain armature regulating resistance to decrease speed at constant torque to 940 r.p.m. and that to complete the equipment we might ourselves supply from stock or otherwise obtain the necessary double pole switch fuses and terminals as outlined above. We have a board made up for the 3 H.P. Royce motor at present in our possession which comprises equipment of the type described, only more, to allow of changing over to a lower voltage on the board itself. This board gives the best control of the motor and is moved about from place to place as required, as suggested for the new equipment. We return the various quotations. EFC. | ||
