With reference to Da {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} /Ev. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} 5/N.1.3.39., we are very anxious that the simplifications outlined in this memo should go ahead with a minimum of delay.

At the same time as the varieties of pieces are reduced, we would like each piece to be reviewed with the idea of possible simplification. An example of what we mean is given in Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Gryl/MH. {M. Huckerby} 8.3.39. which suggests considerable simplification in the rear axle. -> 1015 file

The bent front pan also requires careful examination as it appears to be unnecessarily complicated.

In order to be sure that when B.50 is introduced it exactly conforms to this simplified specification, we should be glad if Da. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} would say to whom each piece of design work required has been allotted, and by what date we may hope to have the necessary detail drawings completed. If any suggestion is considered to be undesirable, we should like this fact brought forward forthwith to avoid unnecessary work being done.

At the moment, we are inclined to think that item 8 should be treated as a separate issue, as owing to the wide length of wheelbase which would have to be covered, it presents a number of difficulties.
