LEYLAND, Nr.Preston.

Dear Sirs,

We have recently run your rubber water connection hose on some of our cars for a considerable mileage - approximately 25,000 miles per car and over a period of six months; as a result we are proposing to standardise same since on the whole it appears to be satisfactory.

However, inspection after this test indicates a certain sponginess and disintegration of the inside of the hose - if you will let us know to whom to send it, we will forward to you a piece of the hose in question so that you can give us your opinion on its condition and let us know whether you can suggest any alterations to its composition etc. to increase its lasting powers.

We may mention that the coolant used in the system has been water for most of the mileage but that ethylene glycol has been used in the system on occasions

We should like to hear from you further on this subject as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
