Re. WOODHEAD ROAD SPRINGS.

In our memo Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/RT.7.4.33 we stated that 18-G4. car would be going to France fitted with Woodhead springs and that we should be issuing a standardisation Sheet for Woodhead springs on the 25 HP. car.

Since then we have carried out a number of tests and have come to the conclusion that we get a better springing with Firth's springs than Woodhead.

As we cannot afford to sacrifice the least bit of comfort, we do not propose changing from Firth's springs. Tests we have made have shewn that with Firth's springs we have less internal friction than with Woodhead's.

We are going ahead with Woodhead springs for the Bentley car because on this particular car we can accept more friction in the springs.
