We are in receipt of your letter of the 24th instant. and in reply would say that we have not so far standardized Ball or Roller Bearings the outer races of which are recessed to receive a spring ring, or which have a flange. We are, however, quite prepared to make such bearings for our regular customers where required.

We think you will understand that the standardizing of these particular ranges involves very heavy expenditure for toolsand for stocks. So far the demand has been very small and has applied to one or two sizes only with recesses for spring rings. These, although somewhat more expensive than the standard bearing because at present made in such small quantities, are not nearly so expensive as bearings with a flange on the outer race.

If you are interested in going further into this matter with regard to any of the sizes which you use, please let us know, as we stand ready at all times to meet any demand from our customers.

Awaiting the favour of your reply, we remain

Yours faithfully,

THE HOFFMANN MANUFACTURING CO.LTD.
