PHANTOM III
RR. TRIALS CAR NO. 3-AZ-38
Tester Lewis who is in London carrying out modifications to Phantom III chassis/delivered, reports that during the final test of the above car, the third gear worked out of mesh on several occasions. As Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} was taking the car away next day, Lewis was unable to do anything in the short time available.
We have had no experience of the third gear coming out during chassis testing. We have had considerable trouble with second gears coming out, and this has already been reported, in fact we have at the moment three gear boxes which are suffering from this defect, and we have no means of curing them.
The second gear comes out frequently on 37-EX.
