Re Pivots - X. 16S.

As I have before stated I am very pleased with Mr. Hives' work on this subject. I think that it is now fairly definitely shown that modification in the cross steering tube is a cause of the failure - I do not blame anyone for the alteration to the cross tube and the result of the variation so very slight that one would not expect any benefit or otherwise from it, such faults teach us how to make our work better and we must not altogether regret them - and I think that elasticity in the cross steering tube or the joints will reduce the risk of trouble and save us from the necessity of changing the stub axles in a desperate hurry.

About this I have been pressing for some time but I do not receive much from the D.O. but I understand that things are now moving.
