RR 238 (150 BKS.) (DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 431-8-12-24) MP 306975 X6011 ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. To: EFC Order No.: PD 46 Customer's No.: March 8th 1930 X.3513 Leakage Tests on Redmanol and Bakelite Coil Cases. Comparative leakage tests have been carried out on a coil case made of the standard American Redmanol powder, and one made of a British Bakelite powder grade X.616.B; both being submitted by the production department. The tests were made, using the valve rectifying apparatus, at high DC pressures ranging from 17,000 volts down to 5,000 volts. With each case the temperature was varied from atmospheric to 100°c, observations of leakage current and corresponding applied voltage being made at temperatures of, atmospheric (16°c), 20°c, 80°c, and 100°c. Both cases had only been subjected to the heating coincident with moulding; neither having, subsequently, received any special baking. Below are given the results for each case, Signed Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
