BATTERY IGNITION CONTACT BREAKER POINTS
OFF 10000 MILE TEST CHASSIS.

We have examined these points carefully and
are of the opinion that the rather poor condition of the
tungsten contacts is due primarily to incorrect initial
adjustment, the points not registering in the same plane
horizontally, and secondly to the presence of oil causing
flashing which would rapidly oxidise the surfaces. It
is important to keep the points bedding together as
much as possible in line.

This is the first case brought to our notice
of unsatisfactory performance of tungsten points.
