The engine completed the above test satisfactorily which was observed by the A.I.D. Officials. The power rating was based on 475 HP. at 2250 RPM. as in the Acceptance Test and for 55 mins. the engine was run throttled to give 90% of this at 2250 RPM. and the last 5 mins. at full throttle. The power being 5.5 B.HP (corrected) at 2250 RPM. This being an improvement on the Acceptance Test. The oil consumption which was high on the Acceptance Test was reduced to 4 pts/hr. by fitting scraper rings on the bottom of piston skirt. In addition to the test, power and throttle curves were taken at the request of the A.I.D. - prints of which are attached. Average figures during the 1 hr. test are given herewith :- , contd :- | ||
