Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} File my Chs Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/JMS/24.7.40. 108 Will you please look into the question of a carburetter for the Myth engine. For everything except consumption I favour a horizontal S.U. and maybe S.U's have now developed some scheme for part throttle economy when this type of carburetter is used on a 4-cylinder engine. If they have not then we should have a carburetter similar to the Vauxhall tryout for economy. Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} will probably make two induction system schemes, one for each carburetter. Incidentally, I have told Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} that I am in favour of a 2-port induction system because: (1) We find it necessary to have widely spaced centre ports in order to get good distribution on our 6-cylinder engine. (2) On the 8-cylinder we did not get any increased M.E.P. when we tried one carburetter feeding two cylinders only. If you do not agree with this I should like to have your reasons. Will you please contact Mr. Worth of British Filters with a view to getting a suitable small by-pass filter. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
