X.4072 RS{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary} 40/50 CUT-OUT SEATING.
------------------------
We attach herewith a print of "N" Sch: 368 shewing proposed drop forgedseating for the Cut-out.
We have lightened ittdown somewhat as compared with the present steel casting, the flange being made .2" thick instead of the present .3", but we have maintained the same shape of flange in order to use the present outlet.
We have ascertained from the Drop Forge Shop that the method of forging out the hole is satisfactory and it is proposed that the edges of the hole should be finished by machining.
We propose to scheme a sheet steel outlet if it appears possible.
