Exptl. Dept. 14th November,1934. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}10/KW. M.C. Wilks, Esq., The Rover Company Ltd., New Meteor Works, COVENTRY. Dear Mr. Wilks, Many thanks for your letter re the Girling brakes. We are returning the wedge to you under separate cover. We are still not quite clear about adjustment of the brakes. Since this is carried out at the fulcrum end it must alter the bedding of the linings causing hard bedding on the heel of the shoe. This we should have expected to lessen the braking efficiency. However, if you have experienced no difference in the braking after adjustment, that settles the point. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
