Copy of Letter. ---------------- From: THE SELF-SEALING RUBBER CO.LTD. Hermetic Works, Ryland Street BIRMINGHAM February 25th.1924. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, Osmaston, DERBY. Dear Sirs:- IMPROVED FLEXIBLE COUPLING DISCS FOR CARS ------------------------------------- We particularly wish to bring under your notice our patented coupling Discs - a sample of which we are sending herewith for the favour of your inspection. The special advantages offered as compared with Discs of other makes, are as follows:- STRENGTH. Built of the best and strongest materials obtainable thus yielding a far greater tensile strength against breaking strain than any other make of Disc, as proved by the results of the Official Tests shown on the annexed sheet. RESILIENCY. Greater resiliency and resistance to permanent distortion as provided by the layers of rubber inserted between the various sections of the Discs. DURABILITY Complete immunity from risks of disintegration and therefore greatly increased durability. FINISH. All bolt and rivet holes are moulded in the Discs under great pressure during the vulcanizing process; hence there are no frayed or raw edges of material exposed such as invariably occurs when Discs are drilled or punched after vulcanization. contd.
