In pursuing our policy of keeping in touch with what Bosch are doing in the way of car electrical equipment, we recently made an enquiry concerning dynamos, particularly of the third brush type, suitable for our 40/50 car. The attached letter is their reply, which will you please return.

The following is the information asked for by the Bosch people and we should now like you to definitely order a machine for us, using these details as a basis:-

(a) Lighting load - 14 amperes.
(b) Size of battery - 80 ampere-hours.
(c) Ratio of gearing between dynamo and crankshaft - 1.5
(d) Maximum crankshaft speed of engine - 3,500 R.P.M.
(e) Crankshaft speed of engine when vehicle is travelling at 10 m.p.h. direct drive - 380 R.P.M.
(f) Position of dynamo. - Strapped in cradle on the side of the crankcase towards the front end of the engine.

Average of cooling wind - 1400 ft/min. approx.
