K430 EFC. FBS.{F. Bell-Scott} Jan. 9th 1921. X.3916 - REPORT ON CORRESPONDENCE FROM AMERICA CONCERNING U.S.A. BOSCH MAGNETOS. CY6/G28.4.21. The three breakdowns, i.e. the high tension brush post on the B.6., the B.T. pencil on the Z.R.6 and the distributor bearing on the D.U.Z.6 have all been taken up with the makers. As regards the B.6., Cy wishes to impress upon us the fact that this is the cheapest machine produced by the Bosch Co. and was never intended for the R.R. chassis, it being sent over by mistake. He would like us to inform Mr. Royce to this effect, who was at one time under the impression that it was another Z.R.6 which had failed. The breakdown of the D.U.Z.6 is regarded as less serious, because they were warned by the makers about the bearing on this type of machine. With regard to replacement parts for this machine CY11/G4.5.21 the Bosch people are ascertaining whether it is possible to ship new parts or better to ship new magnetos. Meanwhile Cy. is asking for an order for these, and is sending on immediately two Z.R.6 pencils. We were advised concerning the bearing of the D.U.Z.6 in Cy2/G4.3.21 while the order alluded to was asked for by us. Cy6/G28.4.21. In connection with the Z.R.6 they state that the Watford gives trouble in practically all cases, in two ways. Contact breaker trouble and a general weakening off of the magneto. A contact breaker is being sent along Contd. | ||
