For the attention of Mr. N.J.G.Hill.

Dear Sirs,

We regret the delay in replying to your letter of July 21st. but the writer has only recently returned to the works.

We enclose prints E.75960, 75970, 75980 showing in detail the connecting union through which oil is fed into the impulse coupling cover, and FB.5190 giving details of the flexible drive to the impulse coupling.

In the 4th. paragraph of your letter you say that you would like to buy the impulse coupling from this Company. We should consider it very much more satisfactory if you would manufacture the coupling yourselves and sell us the complete unit.

Finally, we have been carrying out tests on our impulse coupling in conjunction with your pump and the size 3 feed regulators which you supplied to us. The following facts have transpired from these tests:-

(1) The restriction in these feed regulators is such that, unless an excessively strong spring is used, the impulse coupling will not work satisfactorily because of the pressure in the pipe lines.
