Messrs. Bentley Motors (1931) Ltd.

The recesses arranged for the frameless screen would, of course, tend to weaken the front pillars, but we have Bentley cars so fitted which have been on the road for some time which are in perfect condition which leads us to the conclusion reached in our first paragraph.

The swaged roof panel weaken the metal considerably as it is brought to a sharp bend which cannot be hammered to perfect shape so that recourse to filing is necessary which, of course, makes the metal too thin to be practical for Bentley cars. In fact, this swaging showed signs of cracking before the car left England and was welded upon your represent-ative's instructions, against our advice.

We are glad to know that you will allow us to make an inspection when the car is returned from France so that we can report more fully and we shall then be able to let you know definitely whether our fears that the front wing mounting has contributed to the state of the body are well founded.

Yours faithfully,
For PARK WARD & CO. LTD.,

Director.
