46013 G.W. Hancock Esq., Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}20/KW.3.12:34. We are sending a 20/25 HP. cylinder head out to Sleator, having 6.25 compression ratio. If he finds that this head is satisfactory we shall send one out to you to be fitted at the completion of the 10,000 miles and run in France. If there is any question about the functioning of this head we should like you to make a point of trying the car. It may be that it will not require so much ignition advance at low speeds. Thank you for your other note re performance. It is very mysterious that the cars are equal at top speeds because we have at least 12 more horse power available if the carb. is running with the right mixture strength. We queried that production might have built the silencer up incorrectly and get too much back pressure, perhaps Sr. can change the exhaust systems over.
