TELEPHONE: ACOCKS GREEN 1601-2-3-4 Handwritten notes top left: 1.1.4 1.221 1-134 3-4 9 9 93/3 Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., Derby. October 17th, 1933. Attention: Mr. E.W. Hives. Dear Sirs, In connection with the clutch control Installation which we are preparing, we shall be glad if you would let us have details of the following parts: (1) Lever on the end of the clutch shaft (2) Bell housing - gear box end. (3) Accelerator pedal (4) " shaft (5) " lever. As laid out, the cylinder will be attached to a bracket bolted to the chassis side-members. Somewhere beneath the carburetter. The end of the piston rod will work on to a relay lever in a bracket, which in this installation we propose to fix by means of three of the studs in the bell housing and stay the bracket on to the gear box. From this relay lever a connection will be taken to an extension of the clutch lever. The control valve will be operated from the accelerator pedal and we shall incorporate lost motion in this, so that it will be entirely unnecessary to disturb any of your present throttle controls. If you could let us have drawings of the above parts. it would be of considerable assistance. Yours faithfully, BENDIX LIMITED, C.H.L. WYNNE, Engineering Department. W/RMS.
