re. 'V' SERIES GEARBOX. X8810
This Department (G - WW.) has just heard that when you were here last a complaint was made that the shaft belonging to the side change speed lever for this gearbox shewed what were called 'chatter marks', presumably some imperfection in the sliding sideways of the shaft. If it is considered that this is something requiring a modification in design, and cannot be cured or made sufficiently good by any method such as fitting lighter sideways control springs, we shall be glad if you will let us know as soon as possible.
AJS.
