June, 1939. of the bronze facing is the only possibly variable factor we can think of, as, so far as we can say, all the other conditions are exactly as they always have been. Our impression is that the recent facings, after a little use, appear to assume a comparatively rough surface of a colour resembling yellow brass, whereas the earlier facings took a highly glazed surface of darker colour, more like bronze.
