Modification to a gas tight joint for the brake and clutch pedals on a Bentley II.

THE EXISTING METHOD OF HOLDING THE FELT WASHER AGAINST THE PEDAL GAP PLATE BY A SPRING ALONG THE PEDAL STEM HAS BEEN FOUND TO BE UNSATISFACTORY & CAUSES RATTLES. THE REASON BEING THAT THE FREE LENGTH OF THE SPRING IS INSUFFICIENT TO MAINTAIN A GAS TIGHT JOINT DUE TO IT BEING LESS THAN THE TRAVEL OF THE PEDAL. HENCE THE SPRING CUP & WASHER CAN MOVE FREELY ON THE PEDAL STEM. THERE IS NOT ROOM TO PUT IN A LARGER SPRING ON THE PRESENT SCHEME.
