X7800 Expl: Dept: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/LG. 19th. Jan. 1929. The Lucas Electric Co., Well Street, Birmingham. Dear Sirs, We have had various varieties of your lamps on test on our 20 HP. and 40/50 HP. cars. Our experience so far indicates that we prefer the latest bi-focal set of P.100 lamps for the 40/50 for ordinary conditions. We think that they equal the dipping reflector type of lamp for any circumstances except those of fog, and have the added advantage of fewer moving parts and less complication. To deal with fog, we feel that the ideal is still a spot light on the N.S. dumb iron suitably focussed in conjunction with bi-focal head lamps. In all cases we have used a Bosch two-way foot switch to dim, swivel or dip and we think this is the ideal method of operation. We wonder whether you are considering the production of such a unit. Yours faithfully, | ||
