For the attention of Mr. C.R.N.Minchin.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your two letters M/C167 of the 16th inst. and M/C.187 of the 18th inst. dealing with the subject of the output of our 20 H.P. RR. chassis generator, as affecting the life of your P & R TBD7 battery.

The curve sent to you represents the electrical performance with the dynamo at the highest temperature likely to be reached on the car when the dynamo has been accurately set to our specification of production test in the form in which it has existed for the last two months.

We enclose for your reference, page 2 of this specification of production inspection and test, which contains all that is necessary for the present purpose, from which you will see that the peak output was to be set after 20 minutes running at 1500 R.P.M. to 12 amperes at 14.9 volts.

About two months ago we had given an increase in this peak output from 10 to 12 amperes, owing to complaints from our Test Dept. that the output was not sufficient, and after satisfactorily running a number of machines on our experimental cars with this larger output. It so happens now, however, that complaints are being received from the same Dept. that
