X4255 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} HN.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/M6.6.24. RE. 20 HP. PROPELLER SHAFT LUBRICATOR. X.4255 X.4254. We are aware that our original suggestion of lubricator in the shaft itself did foul the battery box, and we subsequently sent you a sketch shewing a lubricator screwed in on an angle into the outer casing of the joint, which is on the propeller shaft itself, and held in position by a spring. We understood that, the state of the job at the moment is that BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} is waiting for a report. As this matter is rather important due to a number of cars running about with no lubricator, and consequently no oil, we think that we must attempt to do something.
