We thank you for your letter of September 19th, and herewith confirm our telephone conversation of the 21st September. In view of the fact that in November 1934, we were able to produce satisfactory RAD.13 discs with small male splines, we are fairly confident that a similar disc to Drawing No.EX.17177 with female splines will be even more satisfactory. Accordingly, we are putting in hand 12 of these, as you request, and will despatch them as quickly as possible. We have given considerable thought to the suggestion to amend VM.30, and if you think that a disc with a rather lower μ, but a very steady one, with no "fade" from this lower figure, will meet the case, we will despatch 12 of this type also along with the above promised RAD.13 discs.
