For the attention of Mr. E.D. Delmaine.

Dear Sirs,

You will remember that you supply us with a woven cotton disc for our crankshaft damper to drawing No. E.55092 attached. We have recently found it necessary to increase the poundage of this damper and this consequently subjects the cotton duck washer to a higher load. Endurance tests have shown that under these conditions the cotton duck washer disintegrates.

We are very anxious to know whether you can produce a disc differing as little as possible in its characteristics from the cotton duck but having greater strength. As this matter is somewhat urgent we should be glad of a reply at your earliest convenience.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
