SPORTS BODY. +7830

We have now sent all the necessary bits down to Jarvis. We are despatching the tool box today.
We should like to know when this car will be ready. We have one or two tests we want to do on it before it is handed over to Sales.

You will doubtless have heard that 15-EX body is completely disintegrated by its unfortunate crash so that we can learn nothing further from it.

Really if one excepts the iron work, hardware fittings, screen and hood, and the crank in the panel below the front door, the only serious complaint about the body was the tendency of the deck to lose its curvature. On the Barker car this is very noticeable although the car has had no running. The deck has tried to straighten out with the result that the edges have lifted up and spoilt the look of the car.

It does look that if the curved section is to be preserved, very substantial stiffeners will have to be employed everywhere.

The screen, hood and hardware fittings on the Barker car looked quite good.

It appears anyhow that the light type of body frame-work has proved itself out wonderfully well considering its first attempt.
