X.4383 - GOSHAWK DYNAMO E3 FROM 7GII.

This machine, having run 5419 miles on the
above chassis has been removed for inspection and replaced
by dynamo F.{Mr Friese}

The brushes are of EG2 (Morganite) quality
and have all become fairly well polished with the
exception of a slight dulness at the trailing edge of the
positive.

The commutator has become burnt at the trailing
edges of the segments and there are parts which have not
made contact with the brushes. It was not machine undercut.
There are traces of mica between some of the segments.

The spring pressures at starting were:-
Positive 1.0 lb.
Negative 1.0
Control .5

and are now:-
Positive .8 lb.
Negative .85
Control .5

The brush lengths were not measured before
starting, but there is little sign of wear having taken
place to any great extent.
