x 317 To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/KW.31.5.35. SpectreCodename for Phantom III Crankshaft out of No.5 Unit. The fact that the big end bearings on either side of the centre main bearing had showed signs of overheating indicates the possibility that the oilers on the centre main bearing might have been leaking. We do get high oil pressures on the SpectreCodename for Phantom III up to 80 lbs. per sq.in. Will you therefore please test the crankshaft up to 80 lbs.per sq.in. before replacing it in the engine.
