Clan F.{Mr Friese} Mr. Addison from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c.c. Mr. c. Mr. Hardy. c. Mr. Bastow. CLAN FOUNDRY. Confirming our conversation today. 1. Large Drawing Board. Hardy will pick you up at 10.0am on Monday morning next, 29th instant, and then collect Mr. and proceed to the Clan Foundry, where you will make out a shortage list of parts required for large drawing board. Having obtained a shortage list, will you please make certain that all pieces necessary are instructed forthwith. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} will say if any pieces which are difficult to get can be produced in the Experimental Department. Since the draughtsman starts the work on Monday, it is imperative that we should get it going with the minimum delay. 2. Small Drawing Board. While we are getting the big board going we want an ordinary board for this draughtsman to work on. This is to confirm that you have promised to supply such a board. 3. Test Rigs. Bastow is coming to see you with a complete layout of the Test Rig Section so that you can get the necessary bed plates and motors in position. He is simultaneously going ahead with the detail rigs which, if the Millwright Section can undertake the work, will have to remain in the Experimental Department. Bastow was engaged to run the Rig Section and has already been here a month without having a rig to supervise. 4. Light in the Offices. It is suggested that more light would get into the offices if the bottom of the windows were lacquered instead of the existing black paint being covered with white paint. Will you please try a small section. If it is no good we agree to the black paint being covered with white. 5. Works Office. We understand that you have already been instructed regarding the Works Office and the Stores. RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
