S/W. (Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}) Copy to EH. W. Y5840 Hn{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}4/EDI/8-5-30. EXPERIMENTAL CAR 14-G-4. In preparation for Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s use of this car over the week-end, we have sent it along to Hoopers so that they may eliminate, so far as is possible in the time we are able to give them, the rattles in the body. You will remember that much of the noise emanated from the front wings and on examining these in conjunction with Hoopers we found the trouble to be due to the R-R wing stays having broken. Hoopers are going to try to make a temporary job so as to eliminate the rattles as far as is practicable, but we think it as well to mention to you that the stays are broken as we feel sure you will wish to ascertain why this should be so.
