X153 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/HP.4.11.33. c. WOT. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} HDY.{William Hardy} J.3. Brake Gear. Herewith is N. Sch. 3817, Servo and Linkage for J.3., incorporating direct foot operation to all four wheels. We are investigating a system of hydraulic operation of the brakes on this car, as an alternative to the mechanical system we have already nearly completed, but as it is intended to use the same servo and linkage in each case it seems desirable to issue N. Sch. 3817 as it is part of the separate gearbox experiment. Hydraulic operation merely modifies the balance lever and suspension link. GRY{Shadwell Grylls} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
