20 HP. LARGER CRANKSHAFT.

We should be glad if you would prepare a modified detail drg. for the above, in which the crankpins are their present length and diameter, while the intermediate bearings are the increased dia. of 2.125, but are 1.150 long instead of the standard 1.050. This leaves the webs .750 thick between the ground shoulders on each side, and .725 actual thickness between the turned faces of the webs.

The webs in profile should be of the oval section 3" wide, the end being formed with an eccentric radius to provide increase in width at the junction with the pin or journal.

With regard to the rear end of the crankshaft the oil retainer should be modified to be more like the Phantom, as we believe the latter is more effective.

The front end of the crankshaft will be if anything shorter than at present, but particulars of this will be supplied at a later date, when we have completed our scheme for the revised spring drive.
