X 3269 To EJJ. from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} c. to Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} c. to Sft{Mr Swift}/Mr.Scott. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.S/KW8.1.34. Testing Dumper Governor Units. We think the present tackle which Mr. Scott is using to test the Governor Unit F.85507 is not nearly good enough. This is causing the Test Dept. to do a lot of work which could be avoided. Will you therefore fix up a Test Rig for Sft{Mr Swift}/Mr.Scott, incorporating the following specifications:- (1) It must be possible to run the governor unit at all speeds from 0 to 400 r.p.m. (2) A revolution counter should show the actual speed of the unit. (3) Two pressure gauges are required, one reading up to 20 lbs. so that differences in 1/2 lbs. can be detected, and the other reading up to 50 lbs. These gauges can be connected to the pressure line by a two-way tap. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/I.A.Leslie. | ||
