With reference to Trauffault Shock Absorbers, I should be glad if they would send one of these here e if, however, they only have two, they should be fitted to the back axle of '7-CA, as part of the experiments of making thiscar run better at high speeds with soft springs of higher rating, can we also transfer springs on this chassis from above the axle to below, to se e if anything with stiffer springs the riding is equally good, Roads with wavy surfaces like the Fen, between Peterboro' and Wisbech, or roads with pot holes on the bends are the worst I know for our chassis; After the swaying up and down has been cured, by damping, I believe the only way to get the car to hold the roadbetter, is to have a lighter axle with more spring load upon it, assuming of course that the tyres are very carefully watched for equal inflation between the tests. I am very anxious to know how this work is going on, but realize that the lightening of the B.A. is waiting for either the D.O. or my work. R.{Sir Henry Royce} T/K | ||
