Dear Mr. Grylls,

Many thanks for your letter HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GRY.{Shadwell Grylls}12/KT dated June 22nd. I am sure there are several members of the Air Squadron who would be extremely keen to have the opportunity of doing some research work on the models of your new Bentley car in the wind tunnel at Cambridge. I wonder how urgent the matter is, for unfortunately the University is in vacation until the beginning of October. I expect you would wish to have results before that date.

It is just possible, however, that Professor Melvill Jones and Mr. W.S. Farren of the Aeronautical Department at Cambridge are going to do some work with the wind tunnel during the long vacation. If so it is probable that their research students, both of whom are members of the Air Squadron, will be up in residence during July.

I am writing to Professor Jones to find out about this and to ascertain if the tunnel would be available for some work on your models.

I need hardly tell you that it is just the kind of work which would enormously interest some of our members, most of whom, besides being ardent pilots, are enthusiastic motorists!

I shall write to you again when I hear from Professor Jones. Meanwhile many thanks for your letter. We are at Netheravon again this year and so far have been very lucky with the weather.

Yours sincerely,

L.P. Don
