PHANTOM SLIPPER WHEEL.

Replying to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}11/5.11.29. The position of the standardisation sheet for the low inertia slipper wheel is that the sheet has been signed by everyone except PN.{Mr Northey} and yourself. We expect that the Cost Dept. are holding up the standardisation as far as you are concerned

This type of slipper wheel has completed 14,000 miles running on 12-EX car which includes 10,000 miles in France, and approximately 6,000 miles on 22-EX car, and has been fitted to a standard production chassis 64-WJ. It has been accepted by EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} and MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} as a definite improvement from the present cars.

It is anticipated that this new type slipper wheel will be fitted to Phantom II from 301 onwards.
