Contd :- -2- an harmonic of the master period, in which the inertia impulses appear to be 2 for, and 1 against, and the vibrations 4½ per rev. (3) To improve the appearance of this 'Japan' car DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} is just completing a drg. of the radiator 2½" deeper, but it is possible that we may have to wait some time before we can get this improvement. I am in hopes that the next car of this type will have the lighter 4 ring pistons. I am rather anxious to get the car with the all-weather body as quickly as possible, providing we are able to cure these two faults. Later we shall send you the new crankchamber with a still further increase in the stiffness of the crankshaft, and a new deeper flywheel, which we hope will cause no anxiety to adjust, as we shall make it variable with speed. I suggest fitting China pistons Lec.2698 with .1" liners under cyls. .050" off the top of the pistons, and 3.2" dis. - i.e. very thin and light. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
